Acrobat Gems: Create a Blank PDF PageMonday, July 24, 2006 by Duff Johnson I just learned this trick today on a top-secret website. Then I discover that Kurt knew all about it since at least June! Anyhow. It's strange how often I've needed to create a blank PDF page. Assembling documents, building up forms applications - there are many odd little instances where a truly "blank" PDF page comes in handy. Up until yesterday, the only way I knew how to do this in Acrobat 7.0 was via javascript - and I had to calculate the desired point-size for my page. Not a big pain, true. But this is MUCH easier! Too bad it's not documented! In Acrobat, simply hold down the "shift" key as you navigate the "File > Create PDF" menu. You'll be rewarded with a special little menu item: "From Blank Page". That's it! Nice clean, fresh PDF: mmmhmm. Originally posted on Duff Johnson's PDF Perspective blog for acrobatusers.com. |
