I am getting an error when Acrobat opens

ANSWER:  You will receive the message "Error opening preferences file.  The filename, directory name, or volume lable syntax is incorrect" if the Preferences directory is missing.  This directory is where the Redax.pdf (preference file) is written.  To fix the problem, you will need to create the Preferences directory at the following location:  C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\X.0\Preferences.  Make sure Acrobat is closed before creating the directory.  Redax 4.6.1 automatically creates the Preferences directory if it does not exist.  If you would like to upgrade, please contact Appligent Sales.
