First specializing in custom software development, Appligent began to focus on PDF technology in 1993, and released the world's first commercially available independent server software for PDFs in 1997.
In Q4, 2008, Appligent merged with Document Solutions, Inc. (DSI) to become Appligent Document Solutions.
