APJavascript

Family LogoAPJavaScript is a command-line utility that allows you to add new document-level JavaScript actions that are stored in text files to PDF documents. Reports on existing document-level JavaScripts in documents can also be generated. APJavascript supports PDF 1.4 and higher.

If APJavaScript shows that your document has scripts you don’t want, you can use Appligent’s APStripFiles utility to remove them.

All APJavaScript commands run from the command line, start with the apjavascript command name. The command name is followed by one or more of the following options:

  • Insert JavaScript to execute when the document:
        — opens
        — closes
        — when or after the document is saved
        — when or after the document prints
  • Display existing document level JavaScripts or document action JavaScripts
  • Modify encrypted documents by providing the Owner password
  • Perform full, garbage-collected save (similar to the Save As command in Adobe Acrobat)
  • Save output as a linearized file
