Family LogoAPCrypt is a server-based component that encrypts PDF files with 40 or 128-bit security. Since it uses Adobe Standard Security no plug-ins are required for the user to open the document.

Key FeaturesTake a Tour

Choice of encryption levels Apply 40-bit or 128-bit encryption to your PDF documents.

User and owner passwords Set a user password to control who may view, print, or modify a document, and an owner password to control who may change security settings.

Modes of Operation

Basic operations
The simplest way to run APCrypt is from the command line with option flags to assign security settings.

Automation options
Use APCrypt as an integral part of your Web server to encrypt documents on the fly before they are delivered over a network. In an electronic document workflow, APCrypt can be scripted for multistage processing and used with Appligent’s other products as part of a complete PDF workflow solution.

Optional Web service
Expose APCrypt functionality to your entire network with APConductor, a separate Appligent Web service product. Use it to programmatically pass the function parameters APCrypt needs via a single SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) call.
