Redax Enterprise Server
Redax Enterprise Server is a server-based engine that centralizes the processing of document redaction on marked-up files awaiting redaction. Redax Enterprise Server can be integrated into a workflow that will redact PDF independent of the Adobe Acrobat client.
Key Features Take a Tour
Multiple markup methods. Mark up documents for redaction with bracketed
text; Adobe Acrobat highlighting, underlining, and crossouts; markup
from Appligent’s
Redax; or parameters defined in a separate
text file.
Workgroup management. Establish preferences for Redax to help manage your redaction projects.
Exemption codes. Use industry-standard exemption codes or create your own.
Annotations. Delete annotations following redaction to ensure that identifying
notes are not released with the document.
Templates. Handle like-formatted documents with ease by applying XML templates
that you create based on existing files.
Reports. Generate tab-delimited text reports at any stage in the redaction
process. You can import the report file into a spreadsheet or other software
for easier analysis.
Security. Apply 40-bit or 128-bit encryption to secure your documents.
Linearization. Optimize your output PDFs for faster delivery on the Web.
Modes of Operation
Redax Enterprise Server can be run in a variety of ways:
Basic operations. The simplest way to run Redax Enterprise Server
is from the command line. You can quickly process documents using option
flags and the markup methods that best fit your situation.
Automation options. Associate commands with server-based watch
directories for drag-and-drop markup and redaction from client workstations.
Redax Enterprise Server is compatible with PDF 1.2 and higher.
Redax Enterprise Server can also be scripted for multistage processing
and used with Appligent’s other applications and utilities as part
of a complete PDF workflow solution.
Administration Utility
Redax Enterprise Server includes a cross platform GUI based administration utility called "APConfig for Redax". The administration utility is included with RES and will run on the following platforms; Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

APConfig for Redax allows you to establish standards for redaction within a Workgroup, maintaining consistency for all documents. The utility allows you to set the same preferences that are used with our Redax plug-in to Acrobat.
