When a software company changes their core library – the low-level code on which applications are based – it's a significant event.
What was our rationale?
- Adobe Systems puts several orders of magnitude more effort into improving their ability to open and process PDF files than any other organization. With the Adobe PDF Library, we leverage Adobe's massive engineering investment, gaining Adobe's ability to deal with corrupt and malformed PDF files, and freeing our developers to focus on customer needs.
- Our clients demand the latest capabilities. With Adobe's PDF Library, we gain the same advanced PDF manipulation and standards-compliance capabilities as Adobe deploys in their flagship Acrobat software.
At the end of the day, we elected to leverage the thousands of man-years of effort that Adobe Systems has invested in their PDF Library since Adobe Acrobat 1.0.
In our re-powered software, our customers will find even greater reliability and true Adobe quality in output PDF files, as well as ISO 32000 compliance, XMP metadata, and a host of other enhancements.
Even more exciting is the new software we're developing for organizations that depend on PDF technology implementations. With Appligent Document Solutions' application know-how and the reliability, quality and power of Adobe's PDF Library, we're confident that our software solutions will stand head-and-shoulders above the rest.
